Unity in Diversity

Hello all,
We thought we’d set up a Children’s Classes Blog as a way of sharing some of our ideas for Baha’i Classes End of Year Celebrations or Holiday Programs with everyone. We invite all of you to submit your creative ideas to this Blog for everyone to see and use in their classes!

Send your photos with a short description to:          childrenclasses9@gmail.com

Our End of Term Celebration
Theme: Unity in Diversity
Unity Tree
We drew a tree on two A2 size cards joined to each other using duct tape!  All I did was draw the trunk and the braches. The idea is to get the students or the parents to adorn the tree with leaves and fruit using Blu-Tack!  We also asked everyone, to do a little whirl or dance once they came up. While this is being done, we got one student to write the quote very slowly under the tree.

Once this is done, we read out and explained the quote. We then explained that we were going to give out little people from all over the world to everyone with their country written on the back.  We put on some funky music and started reading out the country names.  People came again one by one placing their person either on a leaf or a tree.
It was a great visual representation of the quote and turned out to be quite fun as well.

Play - The Same light

Theme:  Religious Unity

Some of the students who had practised for the play couldn’t make it to our celebration so we ended up asking for volunteers from the audience. Basically the performers didn’t have to memorise anything. They just repeated their lines after the narrator. It turned out to be quite funny as out unsuspecting volunteers tried to keep up with the play. Here is how the play begins:

The Same Light

By P.M.

There once lived a kind and wise Queen. She possessed a very special light. It brought peace and happiness wherever it was taken. She had 4 ministers.
She gave each of her four ministers a little flicker of this light and asked them to go and take this light to the dark corners of the world.

·        “Go and take this light to the dark corners of the world.”

Each of her four ministers took the light to one corner of the globe and brought peace and happiness to the people there...
